WINGED GODDESS, 2014

Winged Goddess was commissioned by Nike for an event in New York City and later installed at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton OR. The sculpture is made with polycarbonate sheets and stainless steel aircraft cable and inspired by The Winged Victory of Samothrace, a Hellenistic sculpture of the goddess Nike created around the 2nd century BC. For this commission the iconic marble statue is reimagined through a geometric planar construction that references both traditional carving and digital imaging.
